MapSource en Windows Vista

Heeft er iemand weet dat er problemen zouden zijn om MapSource te instaleren op een PC met Windows Vista besturing. Een colega kan Garmin MapSource niet geinstaleerd krijgen.

Bij mij geeft Mapsource geen problemen bij het installeren onder Vista.

Een collega van mij had ook problemen. Dit is hem gelukt door op de site van Garmin de laatste 'versie - update' van Mapsource te downloaden.

Versies 6 en 9 geen problemen. Versie 7 gaat bij mij niet maar ik heb hem niet nodig want 9 werkt prima.

Versie 6 heb ik zonder problemen geinstalleerd.
Dan zonder problemen de updates gedaan van mapsource
Daarna kaartmateriaal versie 7 update geinstalleerd en het werkte niet meer.
Versie 7 weer eraf en alles macheert weer goed.

A. Garmin software is now Microsoft Vista compatible. Here are a few of the main issues that our software has with Vista and how to fix them:



There is an incorrect registry permission that is resolved by installing the latest MapSource web download from here. This will resolve the issue for MapSource as well as any other Garmin applications that are already installed such as Garmin Training Center.
The help files will not work on Vista due to Microsoft abandoning support for the .hlp format help files. Garmin is creating help files in the new format. As soon as they are ready, an update will be made available.
There is an issue with updating old USB drivers in some rare cases. This is a very rare occurrence according to our product support team. There is a workaround for this and you can contact our Product Support department here.
There is a new set of USB drivers available. The updated drivers can be downloaded from here.

je moet inderdaad een update uitvoeren. staat op de garmin site. ik kreeg mapsource ook niet open met vista. na upgrade, geen probleem meer.

Dit heb ik op het forum.gps.nl gevonden. Het zou de oplossing voor kaartversie 7 zijn.

Je moet niet enkel installeren als administrator, om het programma te open moet je rechtermuisklik op het ikoontje op het bureaublad en "als administror uitvoeren" kiezen.

Dit is zover ik weet enkel nodig in City Navigator V7.
V6 werkt door gewoon het icoon aan te klikken en volgens ik heb horen zeggen Versies na V7 ook.
